What inspired you to launch your own website?
Seemed interesting and starting simple web-design, which inevitably led to a hobby.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
It was a bare-bones website with limited content, and have been improving (constantly) and expanding with time.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
It was catchy, and is also something that I enjoy doing in my free time (sports), and it just seemed to fit. Games were added for entertainment and to make it more exciting.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Sports Legends has over 1000+ games, which is more than any other site I've seen. Most don't even come close to 100, but over at Sports Legends, we've been updating and adding only quality games over time (we individually play every single game listed, so that you won't be bored!). We also have Free movies & TV Shows that you can watch for free with full seasons! Too many to count!!! We also have numerous gamer magazines free to read or download, which makes our site unique and have a broader appeal.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To keep it as a hobby...for now. Once I learn more, I'm sure I will expand.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
I don't pay Anything!
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Add Flash! Flash-based websites are the growing mainstream and are very interactive and visually appealing.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Definitely. As I've already said, Sports Legends has so many games, movies and tv shows (which is just the peak of the iceberg-we offer so much more), that people will keep coming back just to watch movies, tv shows and games, plus with fresh up-to-date videogame information delivered daily, what's not to love?
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
My site getting fully deleted....TWICE! (I'm looking at you freewebs.com)
What has been your biggest challenge?
An attractive menu and top stories section, which I've finally perfected and implemented.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Getting on every major search engine out there.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Constant updating.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
It's been up for over a year, and I plan to keep it running. I have a large user base with many fans. If people stop liking my site, I'll still keep it up, because it's a form of entertainment that has easy access that I can reach while on the road.
