Greater Boston Tickets Interview

By Interviewer at 04/15/08 19:04

Name of your website?

Greater Boston Tickets

Your name?

Randy Ekstrom

Your Location (city, etc)

Boston

Please give us a short summary of your website?

My website is a Boston based ticket provider

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Standing outside Fenway park without a ticket

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Greater Boston Tickets last month

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I wanted to stay true to the area and not get outside the box like those other ticket sites.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Well for one thing I am local unlike the big market ticket sites. The most important difference is the prices though.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

My goal is to become the largest ticket provider in New England

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Currently I am breaking even

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Well I wouldnt develop much because I like the clean, easy to use look of my site. I would probably por it all into SEO.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Absolutley my inventory is the best out there.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Link building has been the biggest headache. It is a tough business to break into.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Link building without a doubt.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Blogs and just keeping true to the area.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I expected it to be less time consuming.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The site has been up for about a month, and I plan to continue until I am the largest ticket provider in New England.

Do you really have the cheapest Boston Red Sox tickets available?

Yes! I just sold Yankees-Sox tickets for $25 grandstands!

What is your website address?

Greater Boston Tickets
