Please give us a short summary of your website?

Drum Tracks dot com is a free resource for live drum tracks for songwriters and music producers.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

We saw the reaction of songwriters to a free drum tracks we've sent. they came up with music for this drum tracks and ended up with a quality demo recording. We decided to help more songwriters by giving them more free drum tracks and resouces for better recordings.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

That's our first site!

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It was pretty ovious - Drum Tracks are the base in every song.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

We offer free drum tracks!

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Ohh, we're keeping it. Our goal is to have a lots of free drum tracks in all style and cool articles.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

It's not about the money here. We enjoy the song we are getting back from the musicians.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Building up the entire studio. We're using a Pro tools HD2 system that cost about $15,000 with all the related plug-ins. Our drum set itself costs more than $5,000.

What has been your biggest challenge?

There weren't any. Since we like what we do, it's all fun.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Word of mouth only. Since it's a non-profit, we hope the musicians who use it will tell about us to their friends.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Drum Tracks dot com is pretty new. It's been running sinse 2007 but we are here to stay.
