Please give us a short summary of your website?
My web site is designed to showcase my skills as a performing magician and to promote those services to company's, organizations, and people planning private parties who are seeking unique entertainment.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
As a full time professional magician, I find that I wear many hats. One of those hats is that of a marketer. I have got to advertise myself to people and the internet is the best way to reach my customer base.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
My first site was also a promotional web site and was launched about 10 or 15 years ago. It looked pretty bad... I like to think that my web design skills have improved a bit over the years.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I wanted something that told people at first glance exactly what I was about and what I have to offer.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
It's about me... Every person is different and every magician is different.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I'll probably retain this web site until I die...
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Pretty well. 75% of my business is generated from leads received as a direct result of my web site.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would probably have it redesigned to include a bit more Flash animations.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
sure.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
I have had to purchase other domains to market in various parts of my service areas.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Drinking a shot glass full of hot sauce.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Let's just say I do a lot of writing on bathroom walls.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It keeps me busy on the computer which takes time away to surf those "other" web sites...
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I've had it for about 10 or 15 years and just plan on keeping on...
What's the most embarrasing thing that has ever happened to you?
Well, there was this sheep that I... Why, what have you heard?
