Please give us a short summary of your website?
LittleLoki offers a hand-picked selection of the best flash games on the web for free! Devilishly fun flash games!
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I've always been an arcade fan ever since I was little. Setting up Little Loki, a flash arcade site, was really just an extension of that childhood passion.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
The first site I launched was a blog back in 2000. It was more of a personal journal than a blog by today's standards.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
well two things came to mind in choosing the name. First of all it had to be something that harked back to my youth, hence the 'little' and secondly it had to be something dark and mysterious hence 'loki', god of mischief in Norse mythology.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
It is devoted to delivering only the sort of games that I'd play myself. Each game is tried and tested by me before hitting the site. So it's just pure and simple top quality.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To watch it grow and learn from the experience.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
At the moment it's too early to say, but I'm hoping that If I keep updating the site regularly it will flourish within the next few months.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would hire a professional developer to build me a custom arcade script that answered all my needs. Then I would hire a designer to create the ideal front end design.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Probably not, I'd have to think about brining other people on board to run it.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
For the moment very little. I've basically paid for the arcade script and some hosting.
What has been your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge has been locating the best flash games on the web and accepting no compromises.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
A mixture of forum entries, directory submissions and some special YouTube publicity videos!
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It's actually pretty close to what I had expected.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I have been running it for just over two weeks and I intend to keep it going for the next year at least. After that we'll see where it's at. The Internet is such a fast changing environment, anything could happen.
Who is your target audience?
The site was built for anyone with a passion for gaming, from teen to adult. It's free, it's fun so come on over and get playing! Thanks for reading.
