Your name?
Beverly Haut
Your Location (city, etc)
Aliso Viejo
Please give us a short summary of your website?
I'm a writer, actress and comedian. My website features video clips of my standup routines, my bio and resume, and everything you need to know about me. Except my credit rating.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I lost my job because of a work injury, so I had to do something. I became a comedian/writer/actress/webmistress and when you're doing that much, you need a website.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
February 2006, and it's the same one I've got now. With updates.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
It was my name. Made sense.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
My site is clean, elegant and easy to navigate. It's got all the info anybody needs if they want to know about my career. And everything's spelled right.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To drive traffic to my site so that I can build an even bigger fanbase.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
So far, about 70-30, but that's going to change, and soon.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I wouldn't change it much.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
First I have to have something to market. If it's just me, then sure, I can keep up, but if I have a DVD to sell, then I don't know.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Not many, as relates to my site.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Keeping my site updated.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Googling my name
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It hasn't.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
A non-question. I will be successful ;-)
Replace this with a question of your own
If your intro page is flash and contains the words "skip intro," why do you have that intro page there? Because everybody skips the intro.
What is your website address?
Beverly Haut
[Ed note: having an intro page (with or without "skip intro")... means a lot of people skip your page completely. -Wilbur]
