Carta Persica is an online based business which sells high quality Persian Design Playing Cards through its website and eBay.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Today many Persians are looking for unique "Persian" gifts and items for numerous holidays like Nowruz. Carta Persica offers Persians around the entire world something really special. Carta Persica are not only fun to play with, but are playing cards with unique designs commemorating 4 historical Persian dynasties.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
The Carta Persica company was first launched in 1993, but www.CartaPersica.com was only launched on February 10, 2007.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
It's the name of the business. Carta Persica means "Persian Cards".
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Carta Persica are one of a kind. Carta Persica are the only Persian Design Playing Cards in existence. That is why they are so unique.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Our eventual goal is to become well known in the Persian world, so that Persians around the world can enjoy a piece of their heritage, while playing fun card games.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Carta Persica has been a very successful business. Its online web-store was established to make it possible for Persians around the world to purchase the cards.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
We are currently very content with our website. It is informative and easy to look at. It shows the cards they way they are and gives information to our customers. To answer the question-we would change nothing.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes & No. We are very able to sell our product in quickly and efficiently. Customer satisfaction is very important to us, so we take special care of each order. Because our cards were made in a limited collector's edition(only 4 thousand made) there is only so many cards we can sell.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Thank Allah, we have not had any problems. Our customers love the cards.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Probably getting the website business set up. There was a lot to learn in order to launch a web-store that would be reliable and easy for customer use.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
So far we don't really advertise. The customers do that for us. Word of mouth has made our business thrive for nearly a decade.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
When starting www.CartaPersica, I personally thought that the website would only bring in a few more customers from U.S. States. I was wrong. Through our website we have had Persians and Collectors from countries like Latvia, Japan, and Australia buy our special cards. This has been a big step towards our goal, which is mentioned above.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
www.CartaPersica.com has been running since February 2007, and will hopefully live on for many more years. We do not plan to close it any time soon.
