Name of your website?

An internet guide for the best in non-mainstream movies.

Your name?

Stan

Your Location (city, etc)

Exeter

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Its a website with nostalgic but with a difference, it has an interactive Haunted House.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Love of alternative films.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Late 1990's. It was a site about psychedelic folk music.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Thought up the obvious names and checked which ones werent taken.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

The is a large degree of humour involved in my site.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To keep it and expand it and see who is interested in it.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Its a relatively new website so a lot of time has gone into it.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Paying someone to get it ranked higher on search engines - it seems that page rank is much less about interesting content than it is about getting your page details to align with the way google etc reads it!

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Hopefully yes. Its something I would love to do full time.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

The variation in the way different browsers etc handle html.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Keeping up with new technological advances.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Word of mouth. Someone has found the site liked it and conatcted their friends to check it out etc.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Its much more work and gets more as more people find it.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

12 months. I will keep it up as long as people continue to be interested in the website.

Why should people visit your site?

I think they'll find it pretty different to other pages. The focus alternative films, with some humour and fun woven in is, I think unique, thats why I started the site in the first place.

What is your website address?

An internet guide for the best in non-mainstream movies.
