When did you start your website and why?
Games Barrel will be a year old June 2007, but it had been left underdeveloped until I purchased it in April. I just wanted to make someting out of it and create a fun unique place for people to have fun.
Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc
Games Barrel online games is a great place to enjoy yourself and have still have a safe fun experience. Thousands of games, on a site with a great design intended to promote complete user enjoyment.
What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?
Without a doubt templating and promoting this arcade has been the most difficult thing to accomplish with this site.
What has been the easist past of operating your website?
Not sure it was the easiest thing to do but it was nice to see all the modification to the script fall so nicely into place.
What was your biggest mistake?
aaahhh, I spent to much purchasing the site considering the shape it was in at the time. Most likely it will take a long long time to recoup this investment.
Who maintains your website and why?
I maintain it personally, it still a one person show around here!
Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?
Well, to be honest, I have continued to learn more about programming and html with this site. Not to say I still don't have more to learn.
What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?
I still think there are ways to generate an income stream yet be straight forward in how it is done.
What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
Cover the basics and stay after it.
What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?
They are just now realizing that this site is coming back to life. But it looks like they are going to be happy.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Activities so far have been solely limited to directory submissions and one banner exchange program that I trust.
What method has been least successful for promoting your website?
They are both good methods for the long term.
What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?
Wouldn't it be nice if on site content weighed more heavy than any other measure.
