My Magical Party Interview

By Interviewer at 06/29/07 04:06
Name of your website?

My Magical Party

Your name?

Karen Taylor

Your Location (city, etc)

Miami

When did you start your website and why?

I started my website in 2005 to expand my business.

Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc

My website is about kids entertainment services. It shows all of our services and discribes exactly what kind of entertainment the client will be getting.

What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?

Learning the programs.

What has been the easist part of operating your website?

Having the right programs that made it so easy for me to create my website.

What was your biggest mistake?

Before I learned how to use some of the programs I hired a man who claimed to be a web designer and he turned out to be a fraud.

Who maintains your website and why?

I maintain my own website because I have time to do it myself.

Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?

My business would not be here if it wasn't for my website.

What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?

I think the future is going to be very competitive because eventually everyone will want to have a website and there will be no room for all of us to have the top positions.

What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

I think its a great way to get your website on top but I haven't learned how to do that yet. I've had companies offer me the service but they charge way to much. It's something easy and companies try to rip off people that think its hard to do.

What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?

They do help but I still haven't tried it for my own website.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

I use a company called party pop. They give me a few adds for a good price.

What method has been least successful for promoting your website?

Passing out business cards.

What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?

More interactable websites like this one. I don't like calling someone to change my advertising changes. I rather have a code and do it myself.

You can enter a question of your choice and the answer here: Yes

Does the way your website look effect your business? Do people care if your website is simple to navigate?

Paintball and baby monitors

By Fred Keebler at 06/21/07 10:30
My friends and I are way too cheap for walkie-talkies when we go to play paintball. So we decided to use my little sister's baby monitor. But for some reason, I always end up with the crappy end. You know the one where you can only speak into and where you can't get any response back. That means I get ambushed, I radio for help, but I have no idea if or when I would get any help. That's why for now on, we draw straws for the bad monitor.

Prieteni - Romanian site for online games Interview

By Interviewer at 06/18/07 18:45

Name of your website?

Prieteni - Romanian site for online games

Your name?

Manuel Timita

Your Location (city, etc)

Bacau

When did you start your website and why?

I've started this website just two weeks ago, and it's mainly conceived for fun, even if I am displaying ads on my pages. I know, the Internet is full of games sites, even in Romania, but my goal is to give to the visitors the opportunity to play only good, selected games, with the possibility to build an online community (for discussions, tournaments, contributions, and so on).

A short summary of my website.

At the moment, it includes only five categories for online games, in which I've added up to 50 games, and i am continuing to add. It does not contain too many ads, or blinking banners, just two ads from Google. Until September I'm planning to ad a forum, a chat, two more games categories, and more games.

What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?

That's a good question... Technically, it wasn't to difficult, because I am using an open source CMS (Joomla!) which I think that's the best. Things were changing when adding games, because I had to play most of them, in order to be sure about the quality and to provide the best description for them. And that took some time.

What has been the easist part of operating your website?

The easiest and the pleasant part in running my site is when I'm writing content and the reason is that i like to write. I write my words like they are spoken, keeping in mind that my visitor is a human being, not a number on a traffic stat.

What was your biggest mistake?

On the index page, the density of one from the main keywords was too big (the percentage on the body was 9%), and I think I was penalized by Google (after indexing, my site appeared on the first 40 results for that keyword and two days later... I was kicked out, somewhere on the page 35). I hope it won't last too long.

Who maintains your website and why?

I am maintaining my site by myself, because I like this work, even if momentarily is like a hobby. I hope to learn enough to be a professional webmaster some day.

Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?

At the moment, i run this website just like a past time activity, not like a business.

What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?

I believe the ecommerce should be the most important way for selling and buying goods worldwide, because it is so comfortable. Time has became too precious to be wasted. But I think that's necessary to have more sites related to security issues, because many buyers are concerning on that subject. About the internet? It is the only "future". Shortly, it will became a real second world.

What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?

Sincerely, after a few years, i would like to read in a history book about something called SPAM. I am sure this is the biggest headache of most internet users.

Rock-it Radio Interview

By Interviewer at 06/17/07 02:56
Name of your website?

Rock-it Radio

Your name?

Bennie Dingo

Your Location (city, etc)

Ventura, California

When did you start your website and why?

In 1995 Streaming Radio Broadcasts were just beginning and we wanted to increase our audience and the thought of broadcasting to The World via the Internet the Classic Rock and Roll of it's first decade seemed very intriguing. It has been a great roller coaster of a ride and 12 years later we are still at it.

Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc

Rock-it Radio continues to play the music of the first decade of Rock and Roll -- From 1955 to 1965. There are currently 13 DJ's at the station from 4 different nations ... all lovers of original Rock and Roll. We also offer a free newsletter that gives the playlist of our 'on demand' shows. And goes out every Friday. You can view a sample of it at: http://www.rockitradio.net/newsletter.html We currently have almost 6700 members in our Free Listener's club, and of course you are invited to join as well.

What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?

The most difficult part is sadly mostly the monetary issues. Streaming Radio Stations are ever having to pay for increased Royalty rates. Don't get me wrong -- The Artists and writers should definetly get there fair share! Without them we wouldn't have the music we are playing. But sadly over 50% of the artists and record labels that we play now -- have passed on. And the rates are increasing and supporting genres that we don't even play.

What has been the easist part of operating your website?

Putting on and listening and encoding the great music our DJ's play :)

Who maintains your website and why?

I maintain our websites and have done so since the beginning... pretty much self taught over the years.

Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?

Rock-it Radio has funded itself and stayed afloat by the sale of our Shows and actual Vintage Rock and Roll Radio broadcasts that we have remastered from the 50's and 60's. (Called Airchecks)... If you would like to view what is available and the website how we keep ourselves a float you can at: http://www.palmsradio.com/store.html

What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?

Always optimistic :)
