Glass Bullet Productions Interview

Name of your website?

Glass Bullet Productions

Your name?

Laura Binnie

Your Location (city, etc)

Fife

Please give us a short description of your website?

Film and video productions for business and entertainment

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I needed a platform to show our company's productions

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This was my first website. I launched it in 2006.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

My brother thought up the name. Glass refers to the lens of a camera and bullet refers to 'shooting film'.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

We offer both corporate and creative services.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To secure a deal for our current feature film so that we have the money to continue making films.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Because of the technology and processes involved, currently there is alot of time and money spent.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I'm currently updating the site. The new site will be up by the end of May. With more time and money I would perhaps create a flash-based site.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, but I would have to employ more staff.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Keeping up-to-date with changing technologies.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Having to do all the boring business admin when what I really want to work on is the creative stuff.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Getting links into the site from other sites.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It needs to be kept up-to-date more regularly than I realised, otherwise people won't come back.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The site has been online for about 18months. I will continue with the site as long as I continue making films.

What do you see for the future in web development?

I see the internet either replacing or merging with TV and cinema.

What is your website address?
